Crisis Management

Get support, guidance, and education when your loved one is in the midst of a mental health crisis.

What is Crisis Management?

Crisis Management is a one-time, 90 minute telehealth consultation designed to assist adults who have a loved one currently experiencing a mental health crisis. While your loved one is receiving care (e.g, in an emergency department, hospital, residential treatment facility, partial hospital program, etc.), this session can provide you with support while navigating the complexities of new diagnoses, hospital systems, and expectations post-crisis.

Mary Houston, MSW, LCSW is a clinical social worker with over ten years of experience working in mental health crisis centers and psychiatric emergency departments. As a result, she has a thorough knowledge of mental health, substance use treatment, and other resources throughout the state of North Carolina. She is thrilled to offer this service to help families who may be feeling confused, overwhelmed, or frustrated by their loved one’s crisis and who need extra support during this critical time.

This is not a crisis response service.

The three components of Crisis Management

Care Navigation

Connecting to care can be an overwhelming process. Get help understanding the mental health resources available for your loved one, including different levels of care available in the community.

Education

Learn best practices for providing structure at home to ensure your loved one succeeds after discharge home. Find out more about your loved one’s diagnosis and strategies you can employ to help them flourish.

Support

This is also a difficult time for you. Get individual time to process the emotional impact of caring for a loved one in crisis. We prioritize your well-being so you can meet your own needs and the needs of those you care about.
